The top 20 teams with the highest cumulative rarity score will earn Chips.
The top 20 teams whose [[Outer Citizen|Outer Citizens]] have the highest combined [[rarity]] score will earn Chips. The entire team, the Citizen and the two Outer Citizens, will each receive a chip. 60 chips will be distributed in total.
 
The purpose of chips is not known at this time but they have been linked to both mutant serum<ref>https://twitter.com/ZssBecker/status/1475510060436668417</ref> and a game in development based on the Final Fantasy mini-game Blitzball.

On December 27, 2021, @zssbecker tweeted: I really liked the BAYC mutation vials idea.... But they really should of made people fight in a tournament for them...

This suggests that chips can be applied to existing Citizens and Outer Citizens to create an additional mutant or transformed version of the NFT.
